Similar to Mac Jones, Najee Harris is just an elite running back. Harris may appear to be a bit more of a beneficiary of his offensive line, as we discussed how elite Jones was last week while throwing under pressure. However, it’s impossible to ignore what he’s done so far this year, as he is on pace to surpass last year’s rushing totals in just the regular season with two fewer games.

So far, Harris has 83 carries for 499 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also has eight receptions for 86 yards. Altogether, that’s an average of six yards a carry along with 195 yards from scrimmage and nearly three touchdowns a game. He’s been a consistent weapon early on, and the sheer nature of his talent is enough for us to put him on this list.

Until the second half of last week, Tennessee football’s defense hadn’t shown many issues with stopping the run. However, once the Kentucky Wildcats took the lead and established balance, the Vols couldn’t buy a stop. Jeremy Pruitt made things worse for the Vols this week by firing defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh. He’ll take over coaching the line.

Because of all this, you have to be concerned over what’s about to happen to UT. Harris could torch them, and if the Alabama Crimson Tide take control early, the Vols are in even bigger trouble. Once again, this is about how elite Harris is, but last week’s play by Rocky Top makes it a bigger deal than it would have been.
