Tennessee football: Photo gallery from Vols’ 48-17 loss to Alabama
Here are images from the Tennessee football Volunteers’ loss to the Crimson Tide.
Well, it was as disastrous as we expected. Tennessee football lost its 14th straight game to the Alabama Crimson Tide, falling 48-17. All of those losses date back to Nick Saban’s first year as head coach of the program.
The blowout loss was somewhat expected, as Rocky Top had just lost 34-7 to a bad Kentucky Wildcats team and was already on a two-game losing streak. After all, they had lost 44-21 to the Georgia Bulldogs the previous week, and Georgia lost 41-24 to Alabama just last week.
Simply put, it’s no surprise that UT lost this game. However, there were lots of memorable moments captured throughout the day. Whether or not they were memorable for Tennessee football is hit or miss. Still, here is a photo gallery from the Vols’ loss to the No. 2 ranked team in the nation.
Falling to 2-3 on the year, Jeremy Pruitt’s team has a ton of issues to address entering the bye week. Those issues seem to go far beyond Jarrett Guarantano at quarterback as well, as Guarantano was nowhere near the problem for UT in this game.
Pruitt’s kids will visit the Arkansas Razorbacks after the bye. They then have another brutal stretch, as they have to face the Texas A&M Aggies, visit the Auburn Tigers and still face the Florida Gators the first week of December. The Vanderbilt Commodores are the only likely win left on their schedule.
This game wasn’t completely without fireworks, though. Guarantano had two deep touchdown passes, and Tennessee football moved the ball at times. These are a few minor things they can build on coming off the bye. However, a 2-3 record is still unacceptable for Vol fans, as it involves a loss to Kentucky that never should have happened. As a result, morale is still low after this loss.
