Check out the men’s Tennessee basketball Volunteers’ new uniforms.

For Tennessee basketball, this new look is a work of art. The men’s program got in on the fun of revealing new throwback jerseys Tuesday, something that has been exciting for Vol fans to follow over the past few years.

In a recreation of the scene from “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” at the Chicago Art Institute, UT’s three scholarship seniors shot a video of themselves going to the Knoxville Museum of Art. It ended with the reveal of all-orange basketball jerseys for the year.

John Fulkerson, Yves Pons and E.J. Anosike are the three seniors in the program. It ends with Fulkerson staring at the new Tennessee basketball uniform, which is displayed as a work of art in the museum.

Given the fact that they are all orange jerseys, they would presumably be what the Vols wear when they are on the road. Fulkerson, Pons and Anosike all tweeted out photos of themselves in the new uniforms, while the UT men’s basketball Twitter account tweeted out a photo of all three of them in the uniform.

According to Grant Ramey of GoVols247, these jerseys are being revealed two years after white throwback jerseys were made public. Ramey reports that this model resembles what the program wore in the 1970s and the 1980s.

Of course, jerseys have been a story all year, as Tennessee football had plans to unveil black jerseys for this year before the pandemic made that implausible. At least they were able to get this new look out in basketball to generate more buzz.

New uniforms have been a part of the program ever since it entered into a contract with Nike at the start of the 2015-2016 season, changing what all the sports had been traditionally wearing for over 20 years. Combining that with a well-connected coach like Rick Barnes would obviously make Tennessee basketball a great place to try out new looks.
