Lost to Texas A&M Aggies 42-31

Yes, the Arkansas Razorbacks are the best team in the SEC with a losing record, and as a result, they belong in the top half of our SEC Power Rankings and as the top team outside of our top three tiers. If not for a missed call against the Auburn Tigers, they would actually be 3-2 and in that No. 5 spot. That was a close loss that could have gone either way.

Sam Pittman has his team playing hard for him, and he deserves credit for that. Losing 42-31 to a Texas A&M Aggies offense that has truly come together is nothing to be ashamed of. This team clearly has an offense to work with behind Feleipe Franks at quarterback, Kendal Briles as offensive coordinator and an elite weapon in Rakeem Boyd.

Coming off a bye, they looked like they could move the ball. The team is not ready to compete with the big boys of the league yet, but they have offensive weapons and are playing a lot more physical than they have in years. We should also mention that they’re doing this against by far the toughest schedule in the SEC.

To navigate that schedule, they need to win their winnable games, which starts this weekend against Tennessee football. After that, they have a likely loss to the Florida Gators, but then they face the LSU Tigers and Missouri Tigers, putting 5-5 on the table. That would be an amazing first year for Pittman given the situation.
