Defeated Arkansas Razorbacks 42-31

Ever since beating the Florida Gators, the Texas A&M Aggies have had a resurgence to prove that they may well be the powerhouse they paid Jimbo Fisher to make them. Sure, they suffered a blowout loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide, but at this point, every elite team appears vulnerable to getting blown out by Alabama the rest of the way. Bama is on a different level.

Although the defense struggled to put away the Arkansas Razorbacks, that appeared to say more about the Hogs than the Aggies. The fact of the matter is this offense, with Kellen Mond leading the way, has a ton of balance and appears to be unstoppable. As a result, these guys still belong at No. 2 in our SEC Power Rankings, and that wasn’t expected early in the year.

Now, to be fair, this team isn’t perfect. Even beyond the Alabama game, these guys are the only team to struggle with the Vanderbilt Commodores, although they did that in the opener. They also didn’t beat the Mississippi State Bulldogs as significantly as the Kentucky Wildcats did. These are minor concerns, but they could manifest themselves down the stretch of the season.

The good news for A&M is that the schedule is easy the rest of the way. Up next for them are the South Carolina Gamecocks, Tennessee football, Ole Miss Rebels, LSU Tigers and Auburn Tigers. Given the way the season has gone, only Auburn seems like a tough game among those at this point. As a result, 9-1 is on the table and may even be likely.
