The Tennessee football Volunteers continue to fall in the Southeastern Conference.

Just eight teams played last week, and Tennessee football suffered another embarrassing loss coming off a bye. The Vols weren’t the only team, however, and the bottom tier of our SEC Power Rankings, while changing, look more and more clear.

At the same time, though, the top tier is also clear. Each team who belongs at No. 1 through No. 4 is blatantly obvious, and No. 5 is pretty clear now as well. The No. 14 ranked team is also pretty clear, while the teams who range from No. 11 to No. 13 can change but all belong there.

Many huge implications came from Tennessee football’s loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks over the weekend for both teams and where everybody else stands in between. The season is more than halfway through, and that’s probably why things look a lot more clear.

Our SEC Power Rankings this week come with two league teams in the top five, three in the top 10, four in the top 15 and five in the top 25. This makes sense given the fact that only five teams in the league have winning records, and a sixth is .500 at 3-3. Nobody else has more than two wins on the season.

As usual, our power rankings will take into account record, schedule strength, style points and recency. Head to head can also come into account if it’s recent and impressive enough, although as we have admitted in the past, circular logic has mostly gone out the window.

Every team was set to return this week, which would have made things even more interesting, but one game has been postponed due to a virus outbreak. We’ll discuss the two teams involving that game. More could come, though, so everybody be on the lookout. Assuming they all hold, though, none of the top tier teams in our rankings are playing each other this week.

This means the only way anything really changes is if there is a drastic upset. Which teams will look to do that? Well, one of them is Tennessee football. Ahead of this week, see where the Vols and everybody else stands in our SEC Power Rankings following Week 10 of the 2020 season.
