Defeated Tennessee Volunteers 24-13

Look at those Arkansas Razorbacks! Sam Pittman inherited the biggest mess of anybody in the SEC. The Hogs were last in the league back in 2017 when Chad Morris took over, and then they got incredibly worse, losing every SEC game in back to back years. Then, in this pandemic-shortened season, they got hit with the toughest schedule in the nation.

What did all of this produce? It brought a team that is 3-3 with more than half the season over. Arkansas upset Tennessee football over the weekend, and unlike their first two wins, they didn’t need a defensive touchdown to do it. This team scored 24 points legitimately on offense and held the Vols to a scoreless second half after not quitting at halftime while being down 13-0.

We could also note that the Hogs got their first win against a non-first-year head coach last weekend. As a result, they still belong in the top half of our SEC Power Rankings, and these guys are a bad call away from potentially seeing a 4-2 record. The only team that blew them out is the Georgia Bulldogs.

Well, with a huge portion of the tough schedule behind them, the Hogs still have work to do. Up next is a trip to the Florida Gators. However, they then get to host the LSU Tigers and visit the Missouri Tigers before hosting the Alabama Crimson Tide. LSU and Mizzou provide them a pathway to 5-5, which would be a huge accomplishment Pittman’s first year.
