Defeated Georgia Bulldogs 44-28

On the other side of the Florida Gators against the Georgia Bulldogs game, Dan Mullen’s Florida team has arrived. These guys were dominant over UGA, and as a result, we were right to keep them at No. 3 in our SEC Power Rankings last week. That accuracy prevented us from putting at No. 2, as they lost to the second-ranked team already.

However, that’s Florida’s only loss. They entered a two-week bye week after that, and the clear objective was to improve Todd Grantham’s defense. How did that work out? Well, they shut down a Missouri Tigers team that had found itself in previous weeks under Eliah Drinkwitz. Then they just forced three interceptions against a loaded Georgia team.

Simply put, the defense has come together. Meanwhile, the offense is still on a roll with Kyle Trask at the helm He just had 474 yards and four touchdowns against an elite defense, and he now has 22 touchdowns with just three interceptions on the year. Tight end Kyle Pitts continues to look unstoppable as well with now eight touchdowns and over 400 yards on the year.

With that win, Mullen’s team got over a huge hump and has a clear path to win the SEC East. They now face the Arkansas Razorbacks, Vanderbilt Commodores, Kentucky Wildcats and Tennessee football. All four of those games should be win, so 9-1 is on the table along with an appearance in the College Football Playoff.
