Did Not Play

Beating the Kentucky Wildcats keeps the Missouri Tigers in the top half of our SEC Power Rankings after not playing this past week. However, that loss to Tennessee football continues to look worse and worse as the Vols collapse. The win over the LSU Tigers looks exactly as it did at the time since we don’t know what to make of Ed Orgeron’s team.

Eliah Drinkwitz’s offense appeared to be taking off with the switch to Connor Bazelak at quarterback, even moving the ball against the Vols. However, it appeared to hit a road bock against the Florida Gators two Saturdays ago, although to be fair, Florida has looked to be on a tear ever since those two weeks off, so that may not say much about Mizzou.

Throwing that Florida loss out, there’s every reason to believe this team is improving. In addition to getting better, the Tigers had another week off to correct some things. Drinkwitz knows how to scheme with teams early in his tenure, so coming off the bye, these guys could be dominant. Don’t count them out.

It’ll be hard at first, as they host the Georgia Bulldogs. After that, though, things get a bit easier, as they close out the year against the South Carolina Gamecocks Arkansas Razorbacks, Mississippi State Bulldogs and Vanderbilt Commodores. That puts 6-4 on the table and 5-5 likely, with the swing game potentially coming against the next team in these rankings.
