Tennessee Lady Vols 2020-2021 preview by position: Backcourt
Newcomers
Jordan Walker; Junior; 5’8; Muskegon, Mich.
Transferring from the Western Michigan Broncos, Jordan Walker was brought on to join Jessie Rennie in helping the Tennessee Lady Vols to stretch the floor. The graduate of Mona Shores High School in Michigan could be a big help in that respect. Walker was a bit rusty in her return for 2019-2020 after missing 2018-2019 due to medical reason.
Still, shot 31.7 percent from three, and she shot 32 percent as a sophomore before her injuries. Taking that into account, she could be much better this year, and she brings tons of versatility elsewhere, having averaged over 16 points, six rebounds and two assists last year.
Destiny Salary; 6’0; Freshman; Jonesboro, Ark.
A four-star guard out of Jonesboro High School in Arkansas, Destiny Salary was recruited for her size and her solid midrange. She is athletic and should provide a great defensive advantage, and she’ll help with the length advantage Kellie Harper values, but she’ll need to bring some sharpshooting as well.
Tess Darby; Freshman; 6’1; Greenfield, Tenn.
The other member of UT’s 2020 recruiting class, Tess Darby is a three-star in-state prospect out of Greenfield High School. Again, she’s great in transition and has a great jump-shot, so while she may not see much action this year, she’ll provide depth, and she could help stretch the floor.
