Here are Caleb Calhoun’s college football Week 11 picks for SEC and top 25 games.

Four SEC games have been canceled for this week along with a litany of other college football games across the country, including this week’s Tennessee football matchup with the Texas A&M Aggies. As a result, there are very few games for us to pick.

Before diving into this week’s slate of games, though, which are few and far between, let’s look back on last week. This is how I performed in picking the seven games on Nov. 7, including the four SEC games that took place.

Week 10 performance

Straight up: 4-3

Gambling picks: 7-7

  • 3-4 against the spread
  • 4-3 over/under

Overall performance for 2020

Straight up: 43-17

Gambling picks: 56-64

  • 23-37 against the spread
  • 33-27 over/under

Once again, I consistently perform better on the over/under than against the spread. However, without a big performance, I’m still way under for the year. This week won’t help me get back either, as there aren’t enough games, but it’s a start. We’ve got three SEC games to pick and no top 25 games. That makes up our college football predictions. Let’s go ahead and dive in.

887. 21. 833. Prediction. 7

Vanderbilt +17.5; Under 41.5

For as bad as the Vanderbilt Commodores’ defense is, the Kentucky Wildcats don’t score a lot if they don’t need to. Vandy is not Ole Miss, so they won’t be able to turn this game into a shootout. UK, meanwhile, doesn’t blow anybody out. As a result, Vanderbilt to cover is the call here, but only because UK won’t score enough, so take the under in this one.

Florida -17.5; Under: 59.5

There’s no reason to believe the Florida Gators won’t keep dominating the way they have been ever since those two weeks off. Dan Mullen’s defense has found itself, and the offense will keep rolling. Although the Arkansas Razorbacks have had a great first year under Sam Pittman, Florida is not the Vols. They cover, and this one hits the under because the Hogs won’t score enough.

South Carolina +12.5; Over: 70.5

The South Carolina Gamecocks are still likely to play in shootout games against elite offenses with bad defenses, and thats’s exactly what the Ole Miss Rebels bring to the table. Lane Kiffin’s team allowed Vanderbilt to even score 21. As a result, this game will hit the over in a shootout, and Will Muschamp’s team will hang tough, but Ole Miss holds on late. They don’t cover, though.
