The Tennessee football Volunteers are slightly up in the Southeastern Conference.

All 14 SEC teams were initially scheduled to play last weekend, but a series of outbreaks brought it down to six. Tennessee football was one of the teams that had their game postponed, a home matchup with the Texas A&M Aggies.

Three games was more than enough, though, to still alter our SEC Power Rankings. There remains one winless team in the league along with one undefeated team. Six teams played, and six moved spots, and not all of them were the ones who played.

Our list comes with the backdrop of a head coach losing his job and another game already  being postponed for this week, which we’ll get to. Was there any effect on Tennessee football despite the Vols not playing? Well, let’s find out here. These are our SEC Power Rankings following Week 11 of the 2020 season.

887. . 0-6. Previous: . Commodores . 14. team

Lost to Kentucky Wildcats 38-35

Is there any promise for this team after its fourth quarter performance? Saturday was the second game in a row the Vanderbilt Commodores lost by only one score, and in both instances they did it in the fourth quarter. Despite being easily the worst team in the league, Derek Mason’s team is still at least putting up a fight in these games.

They haven’t done anything to move up in our SEC Power Rankings, though. After all, it’s just as possible that the Kentucky Wildcats and Mississippi State Bulldogs just called off the dogs a bit too early. Kentucky was up by three scores entering the fourth quarter, so this close loss was a little misleading to begin with.

Improvement is not likely to show for long either. Up next for these guys is a matchup against the Florida Gators. Then they have their best chance at a win by facing Tennessee football before closing out at the Georgia Bulldogs and Missouri Tigers.
