Did not play

At this point, the concern out there is that Jeremy Pruitt is another Will Muschamp: A Nick Saban protege at defensive coordinator who just can’t get things going as a head coach. Tennessee football has become a disaster this year, with a 2-0 start turning into a 2-4 record and no creativity on offense whatsoever while the secondary struggles severely.

All the issues related to the pandemic have a lot to do with what’s happening, and it does suggest that everybody deserves a mulligan, but Pruitt had no excuse to get blown out by the Kentucky Wildcats and then lose by double-digits to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Inexplicably, they still moved up in our SEC Power Rankings because of another bad South Carolina Gamecocks loss.

However, that was by default, as they didn’t play. Their matchup with the Texas A&M Aggies was postponed until Dec. 12. This week, they visit the Auburn Tigers, and one week before A&M, they face the Florida Gators.

That makes for three top 25 opponents and two top 10 opponents in their final four games of the year as they are on a four-game losing streak. The Vanderbilt Commodores are their only likely win left, and 3-7 would be disastrous for this team.
