Tennessee football: Not playing boosts Vols in Week 11 SEC Power Rankings
Did not play
Last Saturday was the second time this year the Missouri Tigers had a game postponed, but again, they were likely one of the teams to avoid embarrassment, as they were about to face the Georgia Bulldogs. At this point, they should be embarrassed enough by losing to Tennessee football the way they did, although Connor Bazelak hadn’t settled in with the offense yet.
Now, though, first-year head coach Eliah Drinkwitz continues to navigate an odd season. These guys had to drop in our SEC Power Rankings by not playing because of what a couple of other middle of the pack teams did in the league.
Avoiding UGA altogether this year could help them finish the season above .500, but they’ll likely be able to face off on Dec. 19. Of course, while that game could determine if they finish right at or above .500, there’s a chance they won’t need it to determine that.
Up next for this team are the South Carolina Gamecocks, Arkansas Razorbacks, Mississippi State Bulldogs and Vanderbilt Commodores. All four of those games are winnable, and they may be favored in three of them, certainly putting at the very worst .500 as a strongly possible outcome. If they win all four, then they are guaranteed to finish above .500.
