Tennessee football: Not playing boosts Vols in Week 11 SEC Power Rankings
Defeated South Carolina Gamecocks 59-42
Former Tennessee football head coach Lane Kiffin continues to have his offense rolling with the Ole Miss Rebels, and he now managed to dominate a head coach in Will Muschamp who is supposed to be a defensive genius. For whatever flaws the Ole Miss Rebels have, nobody can deny the fact that they have managed to put on a show for fans this year.
Last week’s win was significant enough for us to give this team a solid bump in our SEC Power Rankings. They still gave the Alabama Crimson Tide their best fight of the year, and that Kentucky Wildcats win looks solid. This team remains one game under .500, though, and they have a lot of work to do to get above water.
This weekend’s matchup with the Texas A&M Aggies is postponed, the first game on Ole Miss’ slate to be postponed this year. However, that could work in the Rebs’ favor, as they could gain more confidence by now having a path to .500 before facing A&M.
Up next for them, after an unscheduled bye week this week, will be a matchup with the Mississippi State Bulldogs in what should be a win. Then they get to face the LSU Tigers, another team below them. That puts 5-4 on the table before, and if, the A&M game would be played.
