A few times and television stations are out for the Tennessee basketball Volunteers.

The schedule isn’t completely finalized yet, but information on tipoff times and TV channels are beginning to emerge for the 2020-2021 Tennessee basketball season. Four of those were revealed on Tuesday.

According to the schedule on UTSports, the Vols will host the Charlotte 49ers in their Nov. 25 opener at 8 p.m. ET on SEC Network. Two days later, they will host the VCU Rams at 6:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2. Both games are part of the Volunteer Classic.

On Dec. 17, Tennessee basketball hosts the Appalachian State Mountaineers, and on Dec. 19, they will host the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles. Those games are set for 7 p.m. ET and 8 p.m. ET respectively, and both will be televised on SEC Network.

Three days after the Tennessee Tech game, UT will host the USC Upstate Spartan. That game will also be televised on the SEC Network. However, the tipoff time for it was still undetermined when all of this broke.

Nothing is scheduled for conference play yet, but the only two non-conference games set in stone with no time or TV channel yet are now the Cincinnati Bearcats on Dec. 12 and the Kansas Jayhawks in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge Jan. 30. However, the Kansas game will either be on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU.

Now, there are two more likely non-conference games at least, including the Vols and Gonzaga Bulldogs in the Jimmy V Classic and another tentative matchup with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. However, neither is set in stone yet.

What’s clear, though, is people want to see Tennessee basketball play this year. Having these random contests televised on SEC Network shows the interest Rick Barnes’ team is bringing to the table, and as preseason SEC favorites by many outlets, it makes sense. Everybody is waiting to see if a top five recruiting class and a ton of returning talent can live up to its hype.
