Returning backups

Uros Plavsic; 7’0″ 262 pounds; Redshirt sophomore; Ivanjica, Serbia

Last year, Uros Plavsic transferred from the Arizona State Sun Devils. Out of Hamilton Heights Christian Academy in Chattanooga, Tenn., he initially had his waiver denied but then overturned midseason. In 16 games, he averaged two and a half points and one rebound, but he never got in rhythm. With a full offseason, the only seven-footer on the team could become a major force.

Olivier Nkamhoua; 6’8″ 223 pounds; Sophomore; Helsinki, Finland

Behind Yves Pons and John Fulkerson, Olivier Nkamhoua saw the most action of any forward for Tennessee basketball last year. The product of Bishop Walsh School in Maryland was a project, but with limited depth, he developed quickly, playing in 30 games and averaging over three points and three rebounds. With another year of development, he’s in great position to see even more action.

Drew Pember; 6’10” 190 pounds; Sophomore; Knoxville, Tenn.

Before Uros Plavsic was cleared to play, Drew Pember was the tallest player on the team. The local product out of Bearden High School played in just 22 games and averaged five and a half minutes. However, he showed some potential, and he will definitely provide depth once again.

Brock Jancek; 6’8″ 222 pounds; Junior; Knoxville, Tenn.

Another local player, Brock Jancek is a walk-on out of Knoxville Catholic High School. He played in five games and didn’t score any points last year. Don’t expect him to see much action this year either, but he could surprise somebody.
