Tennessee football doesn’t move in Week 12 SEC Power Rankings
Defeated Mississippi State Bulldogs 31-24
Perhaps there is plenty of reason to be concerned over the Georgia Bulldogs now. They haven’t looked like the same team ever since that second half against the Alabama Crimson Tide. Ironically, that’s similar to Tennessee football, who hasn’t looked like the same team since facing the Dawgs in the second half.
Anyway, UGA had to hold off a bad Mississippi State Bulldogs team on Saturday. The offense came back alive, if we’re looking at positives, but the defense also allowed MSU’s offense to look the best it’s looked since Mike Leach’s debut win over the LSU Tigers.
Defense has really been where UGA has fallen apart, particularly in the secondary, and it now is outweighing quarterback issues. Kirby Smart’s team still has an outside shot at the East, but it won’t happen with the way they’re playing.
Up next for Georgia is a trip to the South Carolina Gamecocks, and then they host the Vanderbilt Commodores. That should get them to seven wins, and the Missouri Tigers game is up in the air. Still, this season is likely just another top 25 season with no titles. They clearly belong at No. 4 in our SEC Power Rankings right now.
