Tennessee football doesn’t move in Week 12 SEC Power Rankings
Defeated Vanderbilt Commodores 38-17
Is there any reason for concern? The Florida Gators just had their ugliest performance ever since coming off their back to back bye weeks, and it came against the worst team in the SEC. However, they just won their fourth straight game by at least three scores, and you could understand why they would look ahead of the Vanderbilt Commodores.
There’s no reason for us to drop this team in our SEC Power Rankings because of that “struggle.” It was still a dominating win, and Dan Mullen still has this team on a roll with a potential Heisman Trophy winner in Kyle Trask.
Although the defense could still be a concern, it wasn’t on Saturday, and if it ever becomes one, the offense will just keep scoring, as it did with the Arkansas Razorbacks. Simply put, this team remains in perfect shape, and the SEC East is within reach.
The next three games for these guys are the Kentucky Wildcats, Tennessee football and the LSU Tigers. All three games are likely wins, and two of them almost seem certain. As a result, they likely have the East locked up barring a shocker, but they do have to win a couple of outdoor games in December, one of which is in Knoxville.
