Lost to Alabama Crimson Tide 63-3

From barely beating the worst team in the league to losing to the best team in the league by the largest margin, there is reason to believe the Kentucky Wildcats are slipping. However, the Vanderbilt Commodores are winless and alone in the bottom tier of our SEC Power Rankings. The next to bottom tier are the two-win teams.

With three wins, including a 34-7 thumping of Tennessee football, Mark Stoops’ team is the bottom team of the next tier. Now, their other win is over the Mississippi State Bulldogs, so they are the one team in this tier with no wins over other teams in this tier, and that’s why they are the worst team in this tier.

However, getting blown out by the Alabama Crimson Tide, even in that fashion, is nothing to be ashamed of. Nick Saban’s team blows out everybody, and we can’t read too much into this right now. These guys could still prove themselves.

Up next for UK is a trip to the Florida Gators, which will eliminate their chance at a winning record, but they could run the table against the bottom tier, as their final game is against the South Carolina Gamecocks.
