Defeated South Carolina Gamecocks 17-10
Say what you want, but the Missouri Tigers are now .500. They are dealing with a first-year head coach in Eliah Drinkwitz and have had to deal with multiple postponements throughout the year to knock them out of rhythm. Still, they have won three of their final four games since their loss to Tennessee football, which dropped them to 0-2.
Now, an ugly win over the South Carolina Gamecocks wasn’t the best look for this team, so while they are still in this tier, we had to drop them one spot in our SEC Power Rankings. USC is replacing its head coach and one of the three worst teams in the league.
What stands out is that Drinkwitz’s keeps finding ways to win, whether its in a shootout against the LSU Tigers or a defensive struggle against the Gamecocks. Their only loss since turning things around is to the Florida Gators, and that’s nothing to be ashamed of.
Thanks to rescheduling, Mizzou has a chance to get above .500, as they face the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday since their matchup with the Arkansas Razorbacks was postponed. Then they face the Mississippi State Bulldogs. With those three opponents still on the slate, six wins is on the table, even if they do have to face the Georgia Bulldogs.
