Lost to LSU Tigers 27-24

Sam Pittman is doing a tremendous job with the Arkansas Razorbacks, even if they are on a two-game losing streak. There’s no shame in getting blown out by the Florida Gators and losing a close one to the defending national champion LSU Tigers given the state of the Hogs.

That win over Tennessee football still goes a long way, and the win over the Ole Miss Rebels gives these guys three wins plus one win over a three-win opponent. It was enough for us to keep them in the top half of our SEC Power Rankings. They had to drop one spot with that loss, but they have still proven more than most teams.

Pittman’s great staff with Kendal Briles and Barry Odom plus his use of weapons in Feleipe Franks and multiple running backs and wide receivers is why this team has overachieved. The best they can do for the regular season is now .500, and that’s impossible with the Alabama Crimson Tide still on the slate.

Now, this week has been postponed, the first time for the Hogs. Then they play Alabama. However, for a strong finish, they’ll likely face the Missouri Tigers Dec. 12 or Dec. 19, and if they win that, they will have navigated the toughest schedule with a new team to four wins. That’s a good start for Pittman.
