Defeated Arkansas Razorbacks 27-24

Finally, the LSU Tigers came away with a quality win. In an up and down season interrupted by multiple postponements, the defending national champions suffered a bad loss to the Mississippi State Bulldogs to open things up and had only beaten the South Carolina Gamecocks and Vanderbilt Commodores before last weekend.

With their only two wins against the worst team in our SEC Power Rankings, we had them near the bottom tier of those rankings. Beating the Arkansas Razorbacks, however, who were No. 6 in such rankings, makes them the most recent three-win team to actually beat another team with three wins. As a result, Ed Orgeron’s team shot up.

Things are about to get much more brutal, though, even if they are major tests. Up next is a trip to the Texas A&M Aggies. The Ole Miss Rebels are after that, and then they have to face the Florida Gators. Simply put, things are about to get tough.

These guys  got a break with the Alabama Crimson Tide game likely being canceled, but they still have to score a huge win to get above .500. If they don’t beat Florida or A&M, they will follow up a national title season with a losing record.
