Defeated LSU Tigers 20-7

The Texas A&M Aggies’ only loss is to the top team in the league, one that is undefeated. They beat the only other one-loss team in the league. As a result, no matter what happens, they belong at No. 2 in our SEC Power Rankings until they lose at the moment. A win over the LSU Tigers further cemented that this past weekend.

Say what you want about A&M looking ugly in some wins this year. They struggled to put away the Vanderbilt Commodores, the Mississippi State Bulldogs and now LSU. However, there was a bit of rust after a three-week layoff, and at the end of the day, they are 6-1.

Jimbo Fisher’s team is finding ways to win. Not only are they in contention for the College Football Playoff if they continue to win, but they technically are still in contention for the SEC West, although that could change this weekend. Simply put, this team still has everything to play for.

A top five program, they do have a tough test up next against the Auburn Tigers. That’s their biggest hurdle to staying up here. If they get past that game, they close things out against Tennessee football and the Ole Miss Rebels, so 9-1 should be assured.
