Tennessee football unchanged in Week 13 SEC Power Rankings
Did not play
This past weekend, Tennessee football didn’t play to make room for the Vanderbilt Commodores and Missouri Tigers. Mizzou was initially supposed to face the Arkansas Razorbacks, but a COVID outbreak shut down activities with the Hogs. Without playing, movement by other teams resulted in Arkansas dropping one spot in our SEC Power Rankings.
Just like the Ole Miss Rebels get the nod over the Kentucky Wildcats by beating UK, though, Sam Pittman’s team gets the nod over Ole Miss by beating them. This is another three-win team, and they, like Ole Miss, have one win over a three-win team. It’s head to head logic for the No. 8 to No. 10 ranked teams in these power rankings with that many wins.
Arkansas’s other victories are over the Vols and Mississippi State Bulldogs. Either way, though, Pittman’s team has been the pleasant surprise of the year. They were a wreck and have been putting up a fight in every game.
Up next is a chance to continue that fight, as they will make up their game with Missouri on Saturday. They then likely will have their make-up game with the Alabama Crimson Tide on Dec. 12, but that depends on how other things go. Still, they have a chance at four wins, a dramatic overachievement given what Pittman took over to start the year.
