6. Pass rush from Florida

While the outside rushers for Tennessee football will be crucial when it comes to stopping the run, the edge rushers for the Florida Gators will be there to do exactly what they’re expected to do: sack the quarterback. Given what’s been going on in recent weeks, there’s no reason to believe they won’t be able to do that at a high level.

For the year, Florida and the Georgia Bulldogs both lead the league in sacks with 23 each. To make matters worse, the Vols are near the bottom of the SEC in limiting the number of sacks they allow, as they have allowed 17 on the year.

Despite all the hype behind their offensive line entering the year, the Vols’ tackles and tight ends have not consistently blocked well. Their success has only been on the interior. Part of that is due to injuries and limited playing time, but another part of it is due to a simple lack of development from the young guys who played last year.

Can UT somehow fend off what Florida is about to bring on Saturday? The last time they faced a pass rush like this, UGA swarmed them in the second half and forced three turnovers. That can’t happen again if they want to stay in this game.
