3. How many interceptions will Florida come down with?

We already talked about Jarrett Guarantano’s tendencies to throw pick-sixes. Well, Tennessee football is technically in the middle of the pack of the SEC in interceptions thrown on the year with seven. However, when you account for the fact that they all have come in the Vols’ last five games, it looks a lot more disastrous, especially since they don’t throw it as much as other teams.

Florida, meanwhile, is tied for fifth in the league in interceptions per game with one. They have eight on the year. However, we already mentioned their pass rush, which is they catalyst for many of the interceptions they come down with. That’s also what has forced UT to throw lots of interceptions on the year.

Taking that all into account, the Gators will rely on a couple of picks to take control of this game. The Vols may have at least beaten the Kentucky Wildcats and Auburn Tigers if not for the interceptions, and that would have them sitting at 4-3 right now with much higher morale.

As it is, their interceptions have been disastrous momentum swings, and Florida is a team very capable of exploiting that. If they can get multiple interceptions, they’ll put this game away pretty easily. However, UT could make it interesting for some time without a turnover.
