These UF players will be key at the Tennessee football Volunteers.

Dan Mullen is continuing the tradition set by Steve Spurrier and Urban Meyer with a Florida Gators offense made up of elite weapons all over the place and a Heisman candidate at quarterback to get them the ball. That’s what Tennessee football will be faced with when the No. 6 ranked team in the nation heads to Knoxville on Saturday.

Like those Spurrier and Meyer teams, though, Florida also has some weapons on defense who don’t get the same hype. When combining all the aspects, it makes for a team that will be extremely difficult for the Vols to handle.

Who does Tennessee football have to worry about the most, though, if they are going to pull off a dramatic upset? How much of a threat do these guys pose to UT? Let’s look at that here. These are the five Florida Gators the Vols will have to keep an eye out for on Rocky Top Saturday.

Tight end. Kyle Pitts. 5. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Junior. 840

Although the Vols have been horrible at defending receivers who aren’t wideouts, that usually has involved No. 2 receivers who are speedy, slot guys. Tight ends have been exempt. However, Kyle Pitts is not your average tight end, and he made his way onto this list based on his merits alone.

The product of Archbishop Wood High School in Pennsylvania just outside of Philly is second on the team in receiving with 29 receptions for 513 yards. However, he leads the team in receiving touchdowns with 11. Just last week, he had three receiving touchdowns against the Kentucky Wildcats, and he had four in the opener against the Ole Miss Rebels.

Whenever the Gators have needed a play, Pitts has been there for him. He’s the best tight end in the nation, and he can do it all. UT will have to account for him at all times. If he gets loose, it could be a brutal day for them.
