The Tennessee football Volunteers remain near the bottom of the Southeastern Conference.

Another week, another loss for Tennessee football, another SEC Power Rankings that didn’t see them move. Now, the SEC Championship is set, as both division leaders clinched with wins over the past weekend. On the other side, two teams completed their regular season with no postponements or cancelations.

All of this will be on display in our rankings this week. It also made for almost no changes, as we have a pretty good idea of where everybody stands at this point. Of course, with two teams’ seasons coming to an end, there’s nothing they can do to change their standing going forward, but teams around them could move.

On the other hand, Tennessee football is one of many teams in the bottom tier with nothing to play for the rest of the way but vying for a strong finish. We’ll detail those things going forward as well, so let’s go ahead and dive in. As the year winds down, these are our SEC Power Rankings following Week 14 of the 2020 season.

Did not play

Well, by not playing, the Vanderbilt Commodores weren’t able to lose. However, we didn’t get to see this team play its first game in the post-Derek Mason era and how it would respond to the decision to firing him. None of it really matters, though. This program is a disaster in every way. There’s no way around it.

Vandy is all but certain to finish the year 0-10, and they are in danger of being the worst team in SEC history. Having a game with the Georgia Bulldogs postponed only saved them from what would have been an embarrassing loss once again.

To avoid a disastrous finish, though, they have to focus on their one winnable game left. Tennessee football remains on the schedule, and the Vols are playing as bad as anybody right now. If Vandy could pull out a win there, that alone may salvage the season.
