Tennessee football still in bottom tier of Week 14 SEC Power Rankings
Lost to Texas A&M Aggies 31-20
Just like the Missouri Tigers, the Auburn Tigers have one bad loss this year. There’s is to the South Carolina Gamecocks, who we actually have one spot below Tennessee football in our SEC Power Rankings. However, overall, Auburn has played a tougher schedule, and there’s no shame in the losses they have suffered the past two weeks.
Everybody is getting blown out by the Alabama Crimson Tide, and Gus Malzahn’s team put up a fight against the Texas A&M Aggies, a top five team. Chad Morris’ offense is really taking off with Bo Nix at quarterback, and this team finds ways to at least stay in games when it’s not playing what might be the most talented team of all time.
You could have made a case for Auburn or Mizzou here, as they’re in the same tier. We honestly showed prestige bias by putting Auburn here. Still this is a top 25 caliber team, and it will have more chances to prove that soon.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs are the final game for Auburn, and given the SEC’s new postponements, that could actually happen either of the next two weekends. It should, however, clinch a winning record, but they can’t take that game lightly.
