Tennessee football still in bottom tier of Week 14 SEC Power Rankings
Lost to Kentucky Wildcats 41-18
Well that was a brutal ending to the season. The South Carolina Gamecocks began this year with a new offensive coordinator in Mike Bobo and a new quarterback in Collin Hill. That was supposed to be the turnaround for the program under Will Muchamp as he entered his fifth year on the job. A close loss to open the year to Tennessee football actually provided signs of encouragement.
Things did seem to get better for a minute. USC played the Florida Gators tough, and then they blew out the Vanderbilt Commodores before shocking the Auburn Tigers. After that, though, everything went downhill.
A blowout loss to a bad LSU Tigers team followed Auburn. That was the inexcusable game. Then they lost to the Ole Miss Rebels two games later and the Missouri Tigers after that. Disaster followed a promising start.
On Saturday, South Carolina finished its season, suffering a blowout loss to the Kentucky Wildcats. They did not have a jolt of energy after the firing of Muschamp, as Bobo wasn’t able to do anything to help with that. Now, this team remains next to last in our SEC Power Rankings, and there’s nothing they can do to move up or down.
