Former Tennessee football head coach Lane Kiffin’s Ole Miss Rebels are going to be responsible for the SEC not being able to play every game this year. A COVID outbreak related to them has now resulted in this week’s game between them and the Texas A&M Aggies being postponed, and they still have two games left, meaning one game will have to be canceled no matter what.

For that, this team belongs at the bottom of our SEC Power Rankings no matter what. They should pay a price on that front. To be fair, though, lots of other teams had outbreaks throughout the year, and the SEC rescheduled a lot of games because of those.

Anyway, Ole Miss still had a good first year under Kiffin. They have played the Alabama Crimson Tide tougher than anybody else, and their offense has been thrilling to watch. Four wins puts them one spot ahead of the Kentucky Wildcats, as the difference is them actually beating UK by one point earlier in the year.

With the A&M game canceled this week, though, all that’s left for Ole Miss is likely that matchup with the LSU Tigers on Dec. 19. They will now have to play that game to determine if they have a winning or a losing record this year, which could make it much more interesting.
