Tennessee football still in bottom tier of Week 14 SEC Power Rankings
Defeated Arkansas Razorbacks 50-48
Sam Pittman has done a slightly better job with the Arkansas Razorbacks this year given what he inherited, but the first-year head coach who beat him has done an amazing job with the Missouri Tigers. Eliah Drinkwitz is on a roll, and he’s got a program that clearly knows how to win games and is hitting its stride at just the right time.
After an 0-2 start, including what has turned into a bad loss to Tennessee football, Mizzou has won five of six games. They ran the table against middle-tier and bottom-tier opponents, and they won in different ways. They needed a shootout against the Arkansas Razorbacks, but they scored 20 and 17 points against the Kentucky Wildcats and South Carolina Gamecocks respectively.
Sure, the loss to the Vols is a bad loss, but Mizzou’s only other two losses are to the Florida Gators and Alabama Crimson Tide, the two teams in line to meet for the SEC Championship. Simply put, everything about this first year is impressive for Drinkwitz.
This team could have a case for No. 5 in our SEC Power Rankings, but it’s got a bit more to prove. That chance will come, as these guys still have the Georgia Bulldogs on the slate. They also have the Mississippi State Bulldogs, their best chance to clinch a winning record.
