Press conferences following Tennessee Vols weekend games lead our Dec. 7 Volunteers news.

It was another bad weekend for the Tennessee Vols football program, as they suffered their sixth straight loss on the year. However, Tennessee football wasn’t the only UT program to lose over the weekend. In fact, when you add in the Titans loss, Tennessee sports in general had a horrible weekend, regardless of the sport.

Our morning update on Rocky Top leads with postgame press conferences coming off losses suffered by UT programs. On the football side, there were a few fireworks during the media session that we have to address, and they don’t make Jeremy Pruitt look good.

Beyond postgame press conferences, we also have news on a men’s basketball game being added to the schedule and the time and TV station being set for the football program’s next game. Let’s start with the press conferences, though.

Jeremy Pruitt, players recap Florida loss – UTSports

Following the Tennessee Vols football program’s 31-19 loss to the Florida Gators, Jeremy Pruitt addressed the media along with Henry To’o To’o, Eric Gray, J.T. Shrout and Velus Jones Jr. Florida coach Dan Mullen also spoke along with Treyvon Grimes, Kyle Trask and Trey Dean III. Pruitt said Ramel Keyton has opted out of the rest of the season. Here’s a bit of what else he said.

"“Florida has a really good football team, they have a couple of exceptional players and I thought they played very well today. I thought our kids fought hard when you look at the circumstances that a lot of these guys were around. We made a ton of mistakes today, but the mistakes we made were probably some where we needed to do a much better job getting guys ready to play and some were guys hadn’t practiced in two weeks.”"

Kellie Harper, players recap WVU loss – Maria M. Cornelius, GoVols247

On Sunday, the Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team suffered its first loss of the year, falling on the road in overtime 79-73 to the West Virginia Mountaineers. Kellie Harper, Keyen Green and Jordan Horston all spoke after the game. Here’s a bit of what Harper said.

"“We just couldn’t make shots. They also got to the free throw line a lot more than we did. There was a big disparity there in terms of point production. Hopefully, we’ll learn from this because losing stinks.”"

Men’s basketball adds Colorado to scheduleDan Harralson, VolsWire.com

After canceling their first four games, the Tennessee Vols men’s basketball program seemingly added the UT Martin Skyhawks as an opener. However, that game was also canceled. In its place, Rick Barnes’ team added the Colorado Buffaloes as their new opener, and the two will face off on Tuesday, Dec. 8.

"Tipoff between Tennessee and Colorado is slated for 6 p.m. EST at Thompson-Boling Arena. The game will be streamed on SEC Network+."

Kickoff time, TV set for Tennessee-Vanderbilt – SECSports.com

In a battle between two of the three worst teams in the SEC, Tennessee football will face the Vanderbilt Commodores at 4 p.m. ET Saturday on SEC Network. This is the first time all year UT has played in the afternoon slot on the channel.

"The traditional SEC Network triple-header on December 12 will feature Georgia at Missouri in the first game of the day, Tennessee at Vanderbilt in the afternoon window and Auburn at Mississippi State in primetime. Because CBS had rights to the originally scheduled Ole Miss at Texas A&M game on November 21, the rescheduled game on December 12 is slated to be televised by CBS."
