Linebacker. Roman Harrison. 4. player. 839. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Sophomore

6’2″ 240 pounds; Hometown: Bainbridge, Ga.

Following Kivon Bennett’s dismissal from the Tennessee football program prior to UT’s Week 14 matchup with the Florida Gators, Jeremy Pruitt made it known he expected big things from Tyler Baron and Roman Harrison filling the vacancy as the season moved forward. Baron responded, sacking UF’s Kyle Trask for his first at the college level while finishing the night with three tackles.

If Baron’s big week was last week, that means Harrison, UT’s second-year edge rusher, is poised for a breakout performance. Harrison has only registered five tackles this season but has been credited with two sacks, one against the Alabama Crimson Tide and one against the Georgia Bulldogs, matching the personal mark he set as a freshman in 2019.

This season alone, there have been times where Harrison has been the freakishly athletic presence fans have heard about. However, he hasn’t been able to put together his breakout game just yet.

Limited playing time was a big reason why his 2019 stats don’t jump off the page, but with a new-found opportunity in just his second year, Harrison needs to make the most of it. Expect Harrison to make a strong case for why Bennett’s vacant outside linebacker spot should be solely his moving forward.
