Tennessee football stock report after Week 14 of 2020
Stock up
Alontae Taylor
Throughout the year, Tennessee football has had issues in the secondary. Saturday was no different as a whole. However, Alontae Taylor was a major exception. Taylor rarely got beat, and he managed to make key plays, including a major fourth down pass deflection at one point.
What really makes Taylor stand out is that when Warren Burrell was in his place, he got torched. In fact, this has been a theme during the second half of this skid. The Vols struggled worst defending the passing attack of the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Florida Gators. Taylor didn’t play against Arkansas. His teammates were the ones getting torched against Florida.
Henry To’o To’o
Yes, we have two defensive individuals on this list. Henry To’o To’o is not on the same level as Alontae Taylor because of the fact that he has made a few mistakes in pass defense. However, he was the sole force behind the Vols shutting down Florida’s rushing attack on Saturday.
To’o To’o showed what he has been able to do all year and why he had so much promise entering the season. He has had a really quiet run, but on Saturday, the guy many had been waiting to see finally emerged. As a result, his stock is back up again.
