Tennessee football: Five Vanderbilt Commodores to watch for against Vols

For most of the year, tight ends weren’t the problem for Tennessee football’s secondary. However, that had more to do with teams not relying as much on tight ends to be a go-to weapon than it did with what the Vols did. That proved itself last week, when the Vols lost 31-19 at home to the Florida Gators in a game that wasn’t even that close.
Kyle Pitts has clearly been Kyle Trask’s top weapon all year. Well, he led the team in receiving with 7 receptions for 128 yards. Now, he didn’t have a touchdown, but nobody was able to guard him all game, and that’s just another problem for the Vols’ pass defense.
A product of West Forsyth High School in Georgia just outside of Atlanta, Ben Bresnahan has the ability to be such a threat to the Vols. He has been a part of Ken Seals’ recent success in the passing game. Sure, he is only fourth on the team in receiving with 262 yards, but he’s tied for second with 24 receptions, and he’s second alone with 3 touchdowns.
Simply put, Bresnahan is a playmaker, and he’s going to be a problem for Rocky Top. The only issue for him is whether or not Vandy looks his way enough. His last productive game was against Florida, but he did have 3 catches for 45 yards that day.
