The television channel is set for the Tennessee football Volunteers’ final regular season game.

After their dominant win over the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday, Tennessee football has one regular season game left and maybe a bowl game, even though they are guaranteed a losing record on the year. That final game is a showdown with the No. 5 ranked team in the country hoping to make the College Football Playoff.

Jeremy Pruitt’s former boss, Jimbo Fisher, will lead the Texas A&M Aggies into Knoxville next weekend. Fisher gave Pruitt his first college defensive coordinator job, hiring him in that role while head coach of the Florida State Seminoles. Together, Pruitt and Fisher helped FSU win the national title with help from Heisman Trophy quarterback Jameis Winston.

Last week, the SEC had announced that this game would take place at Noon ET. Now, we know what channel it will be on. Tennessee football’s last game of the year will take place on ESPN, according to an announcement from the league Sunday.

This will be only the second game the Vols have played on ESPN all year and the first time they play on ESPN at noon. They also faced the Auburn Tigers and lost 30-17 on the road on ESPN in a night game.

Outside of ESPN, UT has played three games in the 3:30 p.m. ET CBS slot, against the Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide and Florida Gators. However, only Georgia and Florida had the primetime announcing crew.

Five other games have all been on SEC Network. UT faced the South Carolina Gamecocks and Arkansas Razorbacks at night on the channel, and they faced the Missouri Tigers and Kentucky Wildcats at noon. Vanderbilt was their first 4 p.m. ET game on the network.

Next. Five takeaways from Vols' 42-17 win at Vanderbilt. dark

Anyway, there’s not much hope for Tennessee football against Texas A&M on Saturday, but the game is in Knoxville. Is there an off-chance they shock the world? If they do, we now know it will be in front of a national audience.
