Tennessee football: Photo gallery from Vols’ 34-13 loss to Aggies
Here are photos from the Aggies’ win over the Tennessee football Volunteers.
It was a bittersweet day for many Tennessee football seniors who celebrated their final day at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn. but had to follow it up with a 34-13 loss to the Texas A&M Aggies to complete a 3-7 regular season. However, many of them are to be commended for what they did on Rocky Top over the past few years.
That was just part of the day as the Vols’ lost for the sixth time in seven games. Standout seniors like Trey Smith, Josh Palmer and Jarrett Guarantano being honored was juxtaposed with another blowout loss that involved lots of young players seeing the field. It was a look back to the past combined with tons of questions and uncertainty about the future.
Either way, all of this made for lots of interesting moments on the day. Hey, even in the game, there was some excitement, as the Vols did take a 7-0 lead early, make it 17-13 late in the first half and come down with a red zone interception in the second half. Let’s look back on some of those moments. Here is a photo gallery from Tennessee football’s loss.
Now, after looking back, everybody is wondering where Tennessee football goes from here. This was obviously an extremely disappointing season, but it was also a weird season, and nobody knows what to make of it.
Still, the coaching and quarterback questions are wide open, and we don’t even know if the Vols are going to play another game yet, as they are technically eligible to make a bowl appearance. Simply put, there’s never been an odder ending to a season.
The one thing that is clear is that many Vol fans were probably happy to see this Tennessee football season come to an end. It was disastrous and so many ways after so much promise with a 2-0 start, and this day provided lots of mixed emotions for Rocky Top.
