The Tennessee Lady Vols host the Razorbacks. Here is our preview for the Hogs at the women’s basketball Volunteers.

After postponing two games and pausing team activities for a week due to COVID, the Tennessee Lady Vols are finally back on the court. Their first matchup off a long break will be their SEC opener, their first game in 2021 and against another top 25 opponent.

Kellie Harper’s team will host the No. 13 ranked Arkansas Razorbacks Tuesday night. UT’s last win was a 77-52 victory over the Lipscomb Bisons on Monday, Dec. 28. They then had their Dec. 31 and Jan. 3 games against the Texas A&M Aggies and Kentucky Wildcats respectively delayed.

On the other side, Arkansas comes into Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tenn. having just beaten the Missouri Tigers 91-88 this past Sunday. Here is all the information you need for the Tennessee Lady Vols’ matchup.

6:30 p.m. ET. SEC Network. Thursday, Jan. 7. 6-1 (0-0). 534. . 10-2 (1-1). 524

With a win already over a top 25 opponent, beating Arkansas could truly thrust UT back into the national spotlight. Rocky Top upset the Indiana Hoosiers, who are currently in the top 20 of both polls, back on Dec. 17 on the road. Meanwhile, their only loss is on the road in overtime to the West Virginia Mountaineers, who are currently 7-2 on the year.

Led by fourth-year head coach Mike Neighbors, the Hogs return four of five starters from last year’s team that went 24-8 overall and 10-6 in SEC play. Included among those returnees is leading scorer Chelsea Dungee, who is averaging 19.5 points per game.

Last year, these two teams only met once, in Fayetteville, Ark., and it ended with an 83-75 Razorbacks victory. Still, this is a different Tennessee team altogether, one that is on a four-game winning streak and looking to continue its red-hot run.

Up next after this game for the Tennessee Lady Vols will be a Sunday trip to the LSU Tigers. Arkansas, meanwhile, whose only losses are to the Maryland Terrapins and Kentucky Wildcats, both of whom are in the top 15 nationally, will host the Texas A&M Aggies that same day.
