New Orleans Saints. Shy Tuttle. 5. player. 15. Defensive tackle. Pick Analysis. Scouting Report

2nd year in NFL

One year before Marquez Callaway, the New Orleans Saints found Shy Tuttle as an undrafted free agent who played for Tennessee football. Tuttle emerged down the stretch of the season and became a very reliable player, finishing the season with 18 tackles, eight of which were solo, three tackles for a loss, to hits on the quarterback, four pass deflections and even an interception.

This year, the 6’3″ 300-pound defensive lineman became a more integral part of New Orleans’ defense and appeared in 13 games while starting three of them. In the process, he finished with 28 total tackles, 17 of which were solo and two tackles for a loss.

Now, Tuttle is a critical part of the Saints’ rotation on defense. He’ll definitely see action in this year’s NFL Playoffs and on Sunday when New Orleans faces the Chicago Bears, and he’s come away with multiple solo tackles in all but one of his last six games.

We mentioned Robert Meachem being on the team the last time the Saints won the Super Bowl. Well, cornerback Jabari Greer was on the defense that year. Could Tuttle be the defensive player on another New Orleans team to win the Super Bowl? He and Callaway both would be great stories if they did walk away with a title.
