Undergraduates in the transfer portal

Kivon Bennett

  • Linebacker
  • 6’2″ 248 pounds
  • Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Jackson Lowe

  • Tight end
  • 6’4″ 249 pounds
  • Cartersville, Ga.

Isaiah Montgomery

  • Wide receiver
  • 6’0″ 207 pounds
  • Atlanta, Ga.

Wanya Morris

  • Offensive lineman
  • 6’5″ 320 pounds
  • Grayson, Ga.

By far the standout here and the biggest loss for Tennessee football among transfers is Wanya Morris. Brent Hubbs of VolQuest reported on his transfer on Jan. 13, and as a rising star at left tackle, the 2019 Freshman All-SEC and Freshman All-American blocker would be a huge block.

Kivon Bennett is a loss, but that was expected, as he was arrested and dismissed back in December. Caleb Wethington of WATE-TV reported on that then. David Ubben of The Athletic tweeted about Jackson Lowe’s decision to transfer before the season even started, and walk-on Isaiah Montgomery announced his decision to transfer on Twitter on Oct. 21.

Morris, Bryce Thompson, Trey Smith and Bennett are huge losses for Tennessee football, but Morris’ departure is the most disturbing for the Vols to this point. Jeremy Pruitt needs him to be able to still sell the program’s future. At this point, his departure is the most disturbing news for everybody on Rocky Top.
