Tennessee Lady Vols vs. No. 12 Kentucky Wildcats: Live stream, game time, TV and radio info
Coming off a heartbreaking 67-61 loss to the No. 3/5 ranked UConn Huskies at home Thursday, the Tennessee Lady Vols take the court again Sunday afternoon in another rivalry game against a top 25 opponent. This time, it’s an SEC game.
Ranked No. 25 in the AP Poll and just outside of the top 25 in the Coaches Poll, Kellie Harper’s team will host the Kentucky Wildcats, who are No. 12 in both polls. These two are facing off in a make-up game after their scheduled meetup on Sunday, Jan. 3 was postponed due to a COVID issue that impacted Rocky Top.
UT and UK are able to make up this game today because the Tennessee Lady Vols’ matchup with the Vanderbilt Commodores, initially scheduled for today, has been canceled since Vandy shut down its season due to COVID. Here is all the information you need for this game, which will be played in Knoxville, Tenn. at Thompson-Boling Arena.

This is another game featuring two former Lady Vols as head coaches. Obviously, Harper is leading UT. However, Kentucky is led by Kyra Elzy, who was a teammate of Harper’s from 1996 to 1999 and played for the team under Pat Summitt from 1996 to 2001. The two helped this team three-peat as national champions from 1996 to 1998.
After Kentucky head coach Matthew Mitchell retired just before the season, Elzy was named interim and then full-time head coach. Although she had to replace a couple of starters, she has adjusted well to her first head coaching job, largely thanks to returning leading scorer Rhyne Howard, who is averaging just under 20 points and seven rebounds a game.
The Wildcats are on a two-game winning streak, and their last loss was a close one to the South Carolina Gamecocks. As a result, they are a dangerous team, and this game will determine whether or not UT climbs the rankings of both polls or drops out of both.
After this game, the Tennessee Lady Vols are scheduled to the Ole Miss Rebels this Thursday, while Kentucky is scheduled to host the Alabama Crimson Tide that same day. These two teams are scheduled to face off again in Lexington, Ky. at Rupp Arena on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. ET.
