3. Jeff Fisher

Nobody deserves a job less than Jeff Fisher. What’s even more shameful is the way he is publicly jockeying for the Tennessee football job right now. Fisher claimed he was contacted by university officials about the job, according to reports, and that he has a coaching staff ready to go if hired. He shouldn’t get a look.

Let’s move beyond the fact that Fisher has never coached at the college level and just look at his pro career. In 21 years as a full-time head coach, he made the NFL Playoffs six times with the Tennessee Titans. Sure, he made a Super Bowl, but he did it with an MVP-caliber quarterback, a Pro Bowl running back and a star-studded defense handed to him by Floyd Reese.

The St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams had a losing record all five seasons he was there. They’ve had a winning season every year after him under Sean McVay, making the playoffs all but one year and going to the Super Bowl once. Fisher, in his shamelessness, tried to take credit for the turnaround Jared Goff had under him as if he doesn’t have a history of sabotaging quarterbacks.

Does anybody remember Vince Young? Sure, Young wasn’t perfect, but Fisher undercut him at every turn because he thought Matt Leinart was better. Fisher even preferred Neil O’Donnell to Steve McNair. This guy is so proud of his mediocrity it’s embarrassing. UT shouldn’t touch him.
