Running back. Lilburn, Ga.. Cody Brown. 839. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 3. player

Parkview High School

Again, we’re looking at transfers here. Tennessee football lost Eric Gray, its top offensive performer last year, to the Oklahoma Sooners. Ty Chandler was the Vols’ second best offensive performer last year, their leading rusher the previous two years and their top offensive performer in 2018, and he’s not transferred to the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Fortunately for the Vols, three new running backs are heading to Rocky Top. However, Cody Brown is the only one with a four-star rating across all services. Standing at 6’0″ and somewhere between 210 and 220 pounds, he’s the most complete back and could be extremely valuable in any system, including the one Josh Heupel is bringing in.

Obviously, the other running backs could make an impact, as could returning backs Tee Hodge, Jabari Small and Dee Beckwith. Four-star athlete Kaemen Marley in this year’s 2021 recruiting class could potentially play the position as well. Simply put, there are options here.

However, Brown is the standout in terms of talent, and there is clearly open competition for a couple of starters. As a result, we’ve got him on the list, and given the fact that running backs can make an immediate impact, the Georgia prospect has got a major advantage.
