5. Elijah Pritchett

OL; Columbus, Ga.

Moving back over to Georgia, Tennessee football has as much of a need at offensive line coming up as it does linebacker. Sure, the Vols added four linemen in their 2021 class, and junior college offensive lineman Jeremiah Crawford was the one player who actually signed with Josh Heupel. That was crucial for them going forward.

However, the Vols just lost Wanya Morris to transfer. Cade Mays will likely be gone after this year. Jerome Carvin and K’Rojhn Calbert could both also be gone. This leaves UT thin across the board at offensive line, but it certainly leaves them thin at offensive tackle despite signing guys like Crawford, who is technically listed as an offensive tackle.

Well, Carver High School prospect Elijah Pritchett is also listed as an offensive tackle. Standing somewhere between 6’6″ and 6’7″ while weighing between 280 and 290 pounds, Pritchett is another four-star across the board. He’d immediately help solve this depth issue.

Lots of schools are obviously targeting Pritchett, but he’d be a great steal for UT. Also, given the new offensive system, the Vols will likely focus on slimmer guys who are a bit quicker at tackle in the future, and weighing under 300 pounds, that might fit Pritchett’s style.
