Within a week,

Tennessee football

lost out on three major quarterback prospects in the 2022 cycle, including two in-state quarterbacks and one local legacy quarterback. Ty Simpson, a five-star from Martin, Tenn., Sam Horn, a four-star from Collins Hill, Ga. and Kaden Martin, the son of Tee Martin out of Knoxville,

chose Alabama

, Missouri and Miami respectively over the Vols.

Now, the questions  continue to surround who the next high school quarterback committing to Rocky Top will be. Given Josh Heupel and Joey Halzel’s vaunted specialties with the position, many fans are expecting a major splash recruit to join their first recruiting class in Knoxville.

Missing out on those three quarterbacks isn’t entirely their fault. They’ve only spent a few weeks at UT and inherited a 3-7 ball club. As a recruit, how does any of that sound entirely promising at this moment? Consider the slate wiped clean.

It’s who Heupel and Halzle pursue from here on out that will dictate fans’ opinions on the job they’ve done in recruiting. Here are 10 of the best uncommitted 2022 high school quarterbacks that currently hold offers from Tennessee football. All rankings are according to the 247 Sports Composite rankings which take into account rankings from all major recruiting services.

10. Conner Harrell

Hometown: Alabaster, Ala. (Thompson High School)

Listed as the No. 640 player overall and the No. 14 dual-threat quarterback in the country, Conner Harrell is a name that’s relatively new to Tennessee football’s recruiting big board. As a junior in 2020, he threw for over 3,500 yards, 42 touchdowns and just three interceptions en route to an undefeated season and Alabama’s 7A state championship title.

Harrell, who earned his UT offer last fall from the Jeremy Pruitt staff, snagged 10 offers in the month of February alone. By the looks of it, he’s a player that is trending in the right direction in many teams’ eyes.

As a dual-threat quarterback like a couple of the other names on this list, Harrell would have no problem fitting into the expected Josh Heupel offense in Knoxville. For a player whose only SEC offer is from Tennessee football, look for Harrell’s stock to rise as recruiting continues this spring.
