Cedar Hill, Texas. Scouting Report. Freshman. 839. Pick Analysis. Kaidon Salter. 4. player

6’1″ 190 pounds

We actually probably would have had Kaidon Salter higher on the list were it not for the news that broke on the first day of Tennessee football’s spring practice. In his media session, Josh Heupel revealed that Salter was involved with Aaron Willis, Isaac Washington and Martavius French in their arrests on drug charges two weeks ago and is suspended as a result.

That alone moves Salter to last among the scholarship quarterbacks. Right now, the question is if he can even stay with the program. If he does, the next question is if he can practice in the spring at all, because if he can’t he’ll fall behind every other quarterback, all of whom are available.

Now, to be fair, Salter has the most potential if he can overcome those two things. A four-star across all recruiting services who committed to Jeremy Pruitt’s staff and still signed when Heupel took over, Salter is a dual-threat quarterback who fits the system perfectly.

The chance for Salter and the staff to grow together and build a future on Rocky Top would be too much to pass up. However, there is too much talent elsewhere on the roster for Salter to be able to overcome missing valuable practice time in the spring.
