Pick Analysis. Offensive lineman. Brandon Kennedy. 839. Scouting Report. Redshirt Senior. 3. player

6’3″ 300 pounds; Hometown: Wetumpka, Ala.

Up until details regarding Tennessee football’s Pro Day were released, most didn’t have a clue whether or not Brandon Kennedy was planning to enter the draft or return to Knoxville for a seventh year of college ball through the NCAA’s free year of eligibility.

Smith and Palmer attended the Senior Bowl, Thompson announced his decision on social media. But Kennedy? We heard nothing. These reasons make Kennedy’s performance at Pro Day that much more important.

It’s not wrong to say that Kennedy isn’t the most hyped offensive line recruit in this year’s cycle. Oftentimes, the less talked about prospects are selected in the seventh round, or don’t get selected at all. When asked about the situation he’s in, here’s what Kennedy had to say.

"“Throughout your childhood, your goal is to be drafted. Either way, I just wanted an opportunity to be able to go in there and showcase my abilities. From being a kid, I always had this dream of going and playing in the NFL. So just to even be able to get my foot in the door and getting an opportunity is what I’m really focused on.”"

If his goal was to get his foot in the door, he did just that at Tennessee football’s Pro Day. Kennedy bench pressed, ran the 40-yard dash and went through drills/ gave hand-offs to Tennessee Titans head coach, Mike Vrabel.

Kennedy also likely benefited from having an elite offensive line draft prospect at his Pro Day. Many of the scouts that were in Knoxville to see Trey Smith were able to get a glimpse of what he could do.

It’s tough to predict the next direction Kennedy’s football career will take. However, you have to hope a player that surrendered just one sack in 2020 and played over 1,300 snaps in two seasons should at least be on one team’s wish list.
