Tennessee football’s top 10 underclassmen back for 2021 spring practice

Edge rushers are a bit tricky this year. With Tim Banks moving back to a 4-3 base defense with a focus on 4-2-5 nickel packages, you have to wonder if the primary edge rusher will go back to playing at defensive end or still be a linebacker, like they were in Jeremy Pruitt’s 3-4 scheme. Right now, they are listed as linebackers.
Roman Harrison, once a four-star edge rusher, is a guy who figures to take on a larger role this year with the losses of Kivon Bennett and Deandre Johnson. to this point, though, he has already shown flashes for Tennessee football and clearly has the talent to be an elite producer.
The graduate of Bainbridge High School in Georgia’s Decatur County already has five tackles for a loss and four sacks in two years on Rocky Top. Last year, he had three tackles for a loss, two sacks and seven overall tackles, five of which were solo. In two years, he has 15 overall tackles, eight of which were solo.
Going forward, Harrison is another player with the chance to be a breakout star, but he already has a good bit of proven production under his belt, which is why he makes this list. He should be a favorite to start this year.
